I've always had a thing for vintage maps. The details, colours and contour lines are gorgeous! Perfect, deeply personal gifts for weddings, anniversaries, or birthdays. Home towns, places where you met your loved ones, special holidays or favourite destinations! All maps are sourced from actual vintage Ordnance Survey maps from my collection and printed on sustainably sourced organic cotton. They are padded with real wool and embroidered with freehand machine embroidery.

I was visiting Great Missenden in December and saw something in a shop window that immediately caught my eye and answered some Christmas present problems – it was a couple of Alex’s beautifully worked, framed maps.
I contacted him and commissioned him to make two for me to pass on as Christmas presents.  Everyone that has seen them – not just the recipients – has found them fascinating, very artistic and highly attractive.  Each map takes hours of painstaking work; the 3D effect produced by quilting, and the immaculate embroidery to pick out the roads, rivers and woodland are so original. I defy anyone not to be extremely impressed by his work.
